Salisbury, Md. – Eastwood will headline 1st Saturday 4 to 7 p.m.  Sept. 3, 2016 in Downtown Salisbury, as the event makes its triumphant return to the steps of the Government Office Building. This event is free and all ages are welcome and encouraged.

Eastwood consists of Chris Gray on lead guitar and vocals, Chase Jester on drums and vocals, and Kevin Brown on bass. Join the Salisbury Independent’s Newshound for a dance as this local band plays all your party rock favorites.

Free bottled water will be provided by Herl’s Bath & Tile Solutions, the bath remodeler serving the entire Delmarva Peninsula.

Stop by the Adams Radio Group van for freebies and to learn about their collection of local radio stations based in Salisbury.

For our Pokemon Go hunters, we’ll be dropping lures every half hour throughout 1st Saturday. Don’t forget that the more hunters in attendance, the rarer the Pokemon.

Edit Salon will provide face painting during 1st Saturday for the nominal fee of $3 for small designs and $5 for large designs.

Fenix Youth Project will be on hand with information about their 501(c)3 nonprofit that encourages community involvement and personal development in youth through creative arts.

One of the downtown’s newest eating establishments, New Towne Deli, is holding special hours on 1st Saturday. Pop in for a delicious, fresh deli sandwich! Or grab a bite from the Drift’n Kitchen food truck, which will be parked at 1st Saturday. Attendees are asked to dispose of their trash in one of the many trash receptacles provided by the City of Salisbury. There will also be receptacles labeled for recycling.

Ride your bicycle to 1st Saturday and leave it in the capable hands of Bike-SBY, who will provide a free valet throughout the event.

All attendees are asked to bring a donation for Operation We Care, a locally-based nonprofit organization that sends care packages and supports our military, law enforcement and fire/EMS. A list of the most needed items can be found at www.operationwecare.org. 1st Saturday will collect donations for Operation We Care throughout the entirety of its 2016 season.

Also setting up shop during the event is Slaughter House Farm, which is a Halloween attraction based in Laurel, Delaware that raises money for Operation We Care. Be led through Stalkers Field and into Slaughter House Farm, where chain saws, shot guns, and many other surprises await unsuspecting victims.

The 1st Saturday Art Market has grown this year, so look for new artists selling locally-made products.
