(BALTIMORE, MD-October 11, 2016) – The Maryland Public Service Commission will hold three public hearings on a request by Delmarva Power & Light Company to increase its electric distribution rates by $66 million (an increase of more than $21 a month for the typical residential customer). Delmarva delivers electricity to about 203,000 customers in Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Harford, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico and Worcester counties in Maryland. According to its application, the company seeks to recover costs related to reliability improvements to its distribution infrastructure and smart meter deployment.
