Why
hold a contest?
Women's History Month provides
an opportunity for all of us to reflect on and celebrate the amazing achievements
of women over the years. But it is about more than just the past; it is also
about the present.
At Maryland.com, we believe
that an important way to celebrate women's history is to recognize contemporary
women who are making important contributions to our quality of life every day.
In this spirit, we are sponsoring a contest to recognize some modern-day Maryland
"Women of Achievement". The winners will be celebrated at an April
reception in Annapolis.
We are delighted that three
radio stations across the state are joining with us to co-sponsor this event:
From successful entrepreneurs
to community volunteers to dedicated mothers, women contribute so much to our
community and quality of life. We hope you will take a few minutes to nominate
a woman of achievement whom you want to recognize.
